Assistant Commercial Modelling Manager At National Highways


Your new role

We have a new exciting opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Modelling Manager to join the team in our Commercial and Procurement directorate!

This role can be based in either Birmingham, Warrington, Manchester or Leeds. We have a flexible hybrid working approach, meaning the role will be a combination of office/agile home working.

You will assist in the design and implementation of commercial models and lead in the delivery of commercial models with a consistent and high-quality approach to support the specific commercial and procurement strategy.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Assist the team in the compilation and delivery of commercial models that align National Highway’s commercial interests with the corporate goals and objectives and strategy.
  • Work closely within the team to manage the commercial and financial assessment processes assisting with the compilation of well-informed business decisions.
  • Advocate the Wellbeing, Health and Safety Strategy and continually improve wellbeing, health and safety performance ensuring effective practice is applied by staff and partners.
  • Understand procurement priorities and potential threats to successful delivery of commercial models so that mitigating actions can be actioned to support better delivery of the procurement programme.
  • Develop the commercial modelling relationships with all stakeholders.

To be successful you’ll need

  • Knowledge of working within commercial teams including matrix management at some level
  • Experience of optimising value for money outcomes when using public money.
  • Some knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Knowledge of determining cost drivers for cost comparison in an infrastructure environment and experience of using cost capture, analysis and interpretation into intelligence.
  • Working towards RICS, CInstCES or equivalent. Or prepared to set on the journey to a professional qualification.
