Job Description/Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee financial operations and ensure accurate financial statements are produced in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets and financial projections.
  • Ensure that the company’s financial records are organized and accurate.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports for senior management
  • Manage and develop the accounting team to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Liaise with external auditors and other financial professionals.
  • Analyze financial data and develop strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity and advise on strategies to maintain a strong financial position.
  • Create detailed journal entries and post them to the general ledger (GL) to track all income statements and expenses
  • Handle all accounts payable and receivable on a daily basis to make sure each invoice and expense report is accurate
  • Reconcile all business accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Enter financial data into software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctly
  • Facilitate all incoming payments and outgoing cheques, including printing,
  • Follow up with vendors for accounts payable and keep in touch as needed for collections and ensure bills are paid on time
  • Prepare for quarterly reporting using standard best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations related to real estate transactions, property taxes, and capital gains.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Standardize all expenditure and revenue processes to reduce risk of financial loss.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Educational requirements: Degree in Accounting
  • Experience: At least 3 years experience in a senior level accounts role
  • Added advantage: In the process of acquiring an ICA certificate or a newly graduated ICA student.

Salary Range: GHC 3500.00 – GHC4000.00
