Responsibilities
- Monitor competitor pricing for all revenue-generating departments, understand the dynamic of the local market and the demand generators and recommend appropriate actions to the Revenue Room Taskforce about the hotel pricing and market mix strategy
- Champion all special projects relating to market research and operational optimization (resource planning, costing, Key Performance indicators etc)
- Understand the composition of hotel profitability and use this to evaluate different types of business so as to provide input to future rate setting and negotiation
- Monitor and determine demand periods for function space, rooms and catering through an analysis of historical data and current booking
- Train and support hotel teams on revenue system functionality and enhancements
- Provides technical support to reservations and front office on up-selling and negotiating techniques
- Manage all channels (GDS, internet direct and indirect) including but not limited to room types and sell strategy
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the lowest internet rate guarantee and managing online travel agents in compliance and Aleph Hospitality Standards and rules, with a focus on Book Direct Strategy
- Conduct annual revenue management audits for all revenue-generating departments
- Manage the use of revenue systems on a daily basis. This includes the responsibility of any manipulation of the yield hurdle points and daily inventory balancing where appropriate
- Direct day-to-day sales activities, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognise good performance
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts (example: guests, airliners, wholesalers, travel agencies, ad agencies, and local community groups) to produce group and/or convention business, including room sales, food and beverage sales and catering/banquet services
- Work with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs and ensure teams have clear KPO targets
Qualification Required & Experience
- Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in revenue administration, or a closely related field and at least years experience in revenue/front office department or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to run a Revenue Department with a team and maintain compliance with the hotel standards
- Knowledge of word processing, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets and other revenue-related computer software
