Position : Primary School Teacher – Kasoa
The Primary School Teacher will be responsible for providing effective teaching and learning to pupils in Class 1, Class 2, or Class 4. The teacher will create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and approved schemes of work.
- Prepare appropriate lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroom activities.
- Use age-appropriate teaching methods to meet the different learning needs and abilities of pupils.
- Explain concepts clearly and encourage pupils to participate actively in lessons.
- Integrate practical activities, discussions, games, technology, and other suitable teaching resources where appropriate.
2. Assessment and Academic Progress
- Assess pupils’ understanding through classwork, homework, tests, examinations, and other appropriate methods.
- Maintain accurate records of pupils’ attendance, assessment results, and academic progress.
- Identify pupils who require additional academic support and provide appropriate interventions.
- Provide constructive feedback to pupils to help improve their learning and performance.
3. Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and well-organised classroom environment.
- Promote good behaviour, discipline, punctuality, cleanliness, and respect among pupils.
- Implement the school’s behaviour management and safeguarding policies.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times.
4. Pupil Development
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, creativity, independence, teamwork, and good communication skills.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Recognise individual strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
- Promote positive values, good manners, responsibility, and respect for others.
5. Parent and School Communication
- Communicate professionally and regularly with parents/guardians regarding pupils’ academic progress and behaviour.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff to support pupils’ overall development.
6. Administrative Duties
- Maintain required teaching, assessment, attendance, and pupil records.
- Prepare reports and other academic documentation as required by the school. o Participate in school activities, assemblies, clubs, trips, and extracurricular programmes where required.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Head Teacher or School Management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
- •Relevant teaching certification/licence where applicable.
- Previous teaching experience at the primary school level is preferred.
- Good knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use educational technology is an advantage.
