Head of Security At Ernest Chemists Limited


Our client is the leading pharmaceutical company in Ghana. The company now seeks a hands-on Head of Security to be based in its Accra Offices, overseeing the day-to-day operations in Accra.



Key Accountabilities

  • Review security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of assets (movable and immovable) and personnel of the company.
  • Conduct security risk assessment in support of the operations of the company.
  • Evaluate the security measures in place and initiate changes in the light of current trends in safety and security
  • Prepare & submit to Management Security Risk Assessments and monthly & Quarterly Security Incidents Reports.
  • Review security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of assets (movable and immovable) and personnel of the company.
  • Provide cost-effective security support to all ECL divisions through the maintenance and updating of technical security Systems on all sites.
  • Conduct regular patrols and spot checks of site and shift supervisors to ensure execution of responsibilities, specific post orders, and enforcement of service standards.
  • Conduct investigations in accordance with security best practices guidelines into suspected criminal matters and liaise with relevant law enforcement agencies as and when the need arises.
  • Support the organization of training courses on security issues for new and existing staff; build capacity of security staff.
  • Manage multiple teams of Security Officers (Team Leaders, Site, Supervisors and Guards).
  • In liaison with Security Companies, supervise day-to-day security operations to ensure delivery of high-quality security services.

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Risk & Security Management or Criminology. A Master of Science (MSc) degree in Risk & Security Management or Criminology would be an added advantage.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
