Additionally, the Director of Operations will ensure strict adherence to Hapag-Lloyd policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Implement and manage the Hapag-Lloyd organizational structure and processes related to Port Operations, Equipment, Transport Dispatch, and Maintenance & Repair functions.
Chair staff meetings to review progress on cost-saving initiatives and operational priorities.
Oversee equipment control, including maintenance and repair, for all company-owned and leased equipment.
Address and resolve high-level concerns and operational challenges.
Monitor performance benchmarking figures to recognize and evaluate personnel, guiding them for improved performance when necessary.
Represent the Area within committees, focusing on efficiencies and cost savings through resource and service sharing.
Stay up-to-date with all relevant governmental rules and regulations.
Participate in various Hapag-Lloyd working groups, business processes, and areas as requested by Senior Management.
Assist local management in staff selection and hiring.
Maintain effective communication with local managers, ensuring they are informed of and compliant with Hapag-Lloyd policies and procedures.
Collaborate closely with other Area Directors to drive process improvements and efficient communication flows.
Coach and develop individual department managers and staff, conducting regular performance reviews in line with the company’s policy and management requirements.
Ensure workload distribution is balanced among various disciplines within each department.
Qualifications:

You Have:

A university degree/master’s degree.
10 to 15 years of comprehensive operations experience in the liner shipping business.
Expertise in FIS schedule maintenance and schedule reliability.
Knowledge in EPOS performance.
Experience in adhering to empty evacuation plans.
Proficiency in equipment forecast accuracy.
Familiarity with CRC BU vs. Actual.
Experience in managing empty supply costs BU vs. Actual.
Competence in purchase order capture speed and accuracy.
Track record in M&R per box.
Experience in equipment sales.
Proven ability to drive results, achieve and exceed targets.
Strong skills in stakeholder management and leadership.
Effective problem-solving abilities, generating possible solutions.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively and convincingly.
Adaptability to align with the company’s business strategy, utilizing external insights where relevant.
Strong leadership skills, capable of leading a team to achieve goals.
Skill in building, maintaining, and developing partnerships with individuals and groups within the organization.
