Position : Midwife Trainer – Accra/Tamale
LifeNet International is seeking an experienced and qualified professional to serve as Midwife Trainer. The successful candidate will provide technical and programmatic leadership in maternal health initiatives, ensuring improved access to and effective utilisation of maternal health commodities.
Responsibilities
(a) Capacity Building
- Provide training and mentoring for nursing and midwifery staff in partner health facilities.
- Serve as a consultant or coach to facility nurse and midwife in-charges, offering professional guidance as needed.
- Measure the impact of each training through pre-tests, post-tests, and periodic assessments.
- Support partner facilities in drafting and implementing performance-related action plans and follow up during subsequent visits.
- Provide technical expertise on maternal health commodities and ensure their effective integration into health services.
(b) Learning & Development
- Provide guidance and support in regularly adapting training curricula to the local context.
- Design, implement, and evaluate maternal health projects and interventions.
- Ensure partner facility staff understand and correctly complete all required documentation.
- Conduct and support research activities to inform programmatic decisions and policy development.
- Prepare papers, publications, academic contributions, and other knowledge products to disseminate best practices and research findings.
- Prepare timely reports, proposals, and presentations.
(c) Monitoring & Evaluation
- Monitor and assess health facility performance against agreed standards.
- Collect performance data during field visits and enter it into the electronic data collection platform, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support partner facilities in the timely preparation and submission of monthly reports.
- Assist facility staff in using digital platforms to improve and sustain the delivery of quality healthcare services.
(d) Partnership Management
- Engage with stakeholders—including government agencies, partners, media, and communities—to strengthen maternal health systems.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising proposals and periodic donor reports.
- Assist with hosting foreign partner delegations when required.

Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Midwife with a recognized professional qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical midwifery experience.
- Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Maternal Health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated research background with proven contributions to maternal health studies or publications.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; must be articulate, confident, and comfortable speaking publicly.
- Experience in program management and stakeholder engagement.
- Prior training in clinical quality standards (preferred).
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
