Position : Food Technologist – Accra
We are looking for a Food Technologist.
Job Summary
The Food Technologist will be responsible for developing, improving, and ensuring the quality and safety of food products throughout the production process. This role involves working closely with production, quality control, and procurement teams to enhance product formulations, optimize processes, and maintain compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve food products, recipes, and formulations based on company needs.
- Conduct research on new ingredients, processing methods, and technologies.
- Ensure all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards (GSA, FDA, HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Perform routine quality checks, sensory evaluations, and laboratory analyses.
- Monitor and optimize the food production process to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, test results, and process changes.
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues or nonconformities.
- Collaborate with procurement to evaluate raw materials and suppliers.
- Train production staff on quality standards, hygiene, and best practices.
- Support new product development (NPD) from concept to market launch.
- Stay updated on industry trends, food laws, and technological advancements.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000).
- Ability to conduct laboratory tests and interpret analytical data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
