Position : Senior Procurement Officer – Accra
We are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer.
The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for leading and managing the procurement activities of the organization, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods, services, and equipment in line with organizational policies, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. This role demands strong analytical skills, supplier management expertise, and the ability to drive strategic procurement initiatives that support operational excellence and long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings, efficiency improvements, and supplier quality enhancement.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare annual procurement plans aligned with departmental budgets and organizational objectives.
2. Vendor & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers through a structured selection process.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with performance standards, delivery timelines, and quality expectations.
- Manage and monitor vendor performance through regular reviews and audits.
3. Procurement Operations
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle, including RFQs, proposals, purchase orders, and contract finalization.
- Review complex or high-value procurement requests and provide approvals in line with authority levels.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, reports, and systems for audit and compliance.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
- Review contract terms to minimize legal and financial risks.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSPM, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of procurement methods, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office applications.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
