About Us
Cambridge Halls Academy is a private, coeducational day and boarding school established to provide international education to students of all races and creeds beginning from creche class – Upper Junior High School. CHA offers a curriculum modelled along the English National Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSE and Ghana Education Service(GES) with English as the medium of instruction.
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to join our school community. The School Nurse will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our students and staff by providing a wide range of health-related services, including nursing assessments, treatments, and referrals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Providing first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed
- Administering medication and treatments to students as directed by their healthcare provider
- Conducting health screenings and assessments, such as hearing and vision tests, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records
- Communicating with parents, healthcare providers, and school staff regarding the health status of students and making recommendations for care
- Developing and implementing health-related policies and procedures for the school, in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
- Promoting health and wellness through education and outreach activities, such as health fairs and presentations
- Maintaining confidentiality of student health information and records in accordance with privacy laws and regulations
- Collaborating with other school staff and healthcare providers to ensure the overall health and well-being of students and staff
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience in paediatrics, including experience with chronic health conditions, first aid, and emergency care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, healthcare providers, and school staff
- Ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks and responsibilities
- Knowledge of Ghana laws and regulations related to school health and privacy
- Familiarity with electronic health records and computer systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Nursing or related field
- Active nursing licence
- At least 2 years of experience as a school nurse or in paediatrics
- CPR and First Aid certification
