We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor.
The primary role of the Quantity Surveyor is primarily to manage the financial and contractual projects for the company. The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance to construction standards, cost efficiency, and enhanced profitability.
Core Responsibilities:
Tender and Contract Documents Management

• Responsible for managing all tender processes; including understanding and preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, schedules, and other required documents.
• Lead tender submissions and review for the selection of contractors for projects.
• Manage subcontractor contracts and performance ensuring they adhere to schedules and project deliverables.

Cost Control

• Identify and evaluate financial risks in road construction projects, such as delays or cost fluctuations in materials and price accordingly.
• Implement cost control strategies to minimise waste and optimise resource allocation.
• Collaborate with the team to mitigate project risks that will impact the
• financial outcome of the project.
• Review and analyse claims and variation orders submitted by contractors or subcontractors.
• Negotiate and resolve disputes arising from contract changes, ensuring fair and equitable solutions.

Valuation and Payment

• Conduct accurate valuations of all works completed on-site at regular intervals and prepare payment certificates across projects.
• Ensure that subcontractors are paid correctly for job done and on time for completed works.
• Manage project accounts, providing all relevant information for accurate reconciliation of project costs upon completion.

Cost Estimation and Budget Management

• Conduct detailed cost analysis for each project, factoring in materials, labor, fuel, equipment, and other contingencies.
• Develop project budgets and ensure they align with project expectations
• Monitor and update cost forecasts as the project progresses to avoid cost overruns.

Site Visits and Measurements

• Conduct regular site visits to measure completed works and verify compliance with plans and specifications.
• Ensure that all quantities used are consistent with the project’s bills of quantities.

Reporting and Communication

• Prepare and present detailed progress and cost reports for clients and stakeholders to management regularly preferably monthly
• Maintain open communication with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective collaboration within the team.
• Keep all stakeholders informed of budgetary and financial implications as projects progress.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure all work aligns with Ghana's road construction regulations, environmental policies, and quality standards.
• Stay updated on new industry practices, technologies, and standards to enhance project outcomes.
