The Global Fund Community Systems Strengthening under Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health (GCNH) as a potential Sub-recipient (SR) with the Ministry of Health/ Ghana Health Service/ National AIDS and STIs Control Program (NACP) as the Principal Recipient is soliciting applications from suitable and highly qualified individuals to fill the following position: Project Driver
The post holders will be responsible for the implementation of the Grant Cycle 7 under GCNH.
Please note that this recruitment is contingent upon the award of the Global Fund GC7 grant to GCNH as SR.
Position details
- Title: Project Driver
- Project: Global Fund Community Systems Strengthening – GCNH
• Duty station: Accra
- Duration: 12 months initially, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and fund availability
- Supervisor: Project Coordinator
- Reports to: Team Lead
Responsibilities/Deliverables for the Project Driver
- Performs work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations in the country office
- Assists clients during entry and exit from vehicles as necessary with courtesy
- Assumes responsibility for care and maintenance of the vehicle washes exterior and
- cleans interior
- Ensure the timely and scheduled maintenance and repair of the vehicle
- Transports Project staff, consultants, to designated fields or other approved locations.
- Ensures safety, cleanliness, security and maintenance of the vehicle.
- Provides day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle with timely oil changes, inspections, brakes and tire pressure.
- Makes arrangements for major repairs for the vehicle when needed.
- Ensures that all required documents with the vehicle are in order and up to date regarding vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, and necessary spare parts.
- Plans route and requirements based on schedule or ad-hoc requests by the office.
- Ensures passengers adhere to all road safety regulations.
- Fulfils special requests by picking up and delivering items as directed and running
- Performs any other duties as assigned
Required Qualification and skills required of the Project Driver:
- Basic knowledge/familiarity with automobile maintenance is required.
- At least three years of experience working for NGOs.
- Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
- Self-motivated, courteous, and humble individual.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and availability to work outside of normal business hours, as required.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, and proven ability to work in a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one local language desired
