Position : Primary Teacher – Accra-Airport
We seek a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Primary Teacher to join our vibrant, forward-thinking international school community. This role is integral to shaping young learners’ academic and personal development during their foundational years. You will be responsible for delivering an engaging, high-quality educational experience aligned with the Cambridge International curriculum while fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and creative classroom environment. Main Responsibilities and Duties
Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Design and deliver well-structured, age-appropriate lessons and sequences of lessons, ensuring alignment with the school’s schemes of work, Cambridge curriculum guidelines, and differentiated learning outcomes.
- Establish clear objectives for all learning activities, using a variety of instructional techniques and resources to cater to students’ individual learning needs, including those with learning difficulties or advanced capabilities.
- Foster a positive, interactive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and the development of key academic and life skills.
- Regularly assess, record, and report on pupils’ academic progress, social development, and emotional well-being using both formative and summative assessment methods.
- Assign, review, and provide feedback on homework and in-class assignments to reinforce learning and provide clear guidance for improvement.
- Support students in preparation for internal assessments and, where applicable, external Cambridge assessments or standardised exams.
Curriculum Development & Whole School Strategy
- Contribute to the continuous development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s academic programs, instructional methods, and broader educational initiatives.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and curriculum coordinators to ensure consistency, continuity, and innovation in curriculum delivery.
- Assist in developing learning materials, teaching aids, and cross-curricular activities that support holistic learning.
- Take initiative in curriculum innovation by incorporating technology, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction into classroom practices.
Student Welfare, Discipline & Safety
- Uphold the highest standards of child safeguarding and protection in accordance with the school’s safeguarding policies.
- Proactively manage classroom behaviour and foster a respectful, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and personal responsibility.
- Monitor students’ emotional and social development, providing early intervention and referral to support staff where necessary.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and provide clear direction to classroom assistants and support staff, ensuring a cohesive team approach to lesson delivery and student support.
- Manage classroom resources efficiently, ensuring materials are used effectively to support student learning and that budgets are adhered to.
Parent and Community Engagement
- Maintain open and constructive communication with parents and caregivers through regular reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal updates on student progress.
- Represent the school positively at parent meetings, school functions, open days, and community events.
Team Collaboration and Administration
- Work collaboratively with peers and leadership to support school-wide events, planning days, co-curricular activities, and staff meetings.
- Complete all administrative tasks related to teaching responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of lead teaching experience in an international school environment, with proven success in delivering the Cambridge International Curriculum.
- Valid Teaching License from a recognised teaching authority.
- Jolly Phonics Certification or equivalent literacy training.
- Proven ability to integrate ICT and digital learning tools in classroom instruction.
