Position : Payroll Officer – Accra
Job Summary
The Payroll Officer is responsible for managing and processing employee payroll accurately and on time at GreenGate Foods. The role involves maintaining payroll records, calculating salaries and statutory deductions, ensuring compliance with labor and tax regulations in Ghana, and supporting employees with payroll-related queries while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process monthly payroll for all employees accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain and update payroll records including salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions, and leave balances.
- Calculate statutory deductions including PAYE, SSNIT contributions, pensions, and other applicable deductions.
- Ensure payroll processing complies with company policies and labor regulations.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management review.
- Coordinate with the Human Resources department regarding employee data, new hires, resignations, promotions, and salary adjustments.
- Process employee benefits, bonuses, commissions, and final settlements.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information and financial records.
- Assist with payroll audits and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure accurate filing and submission of payroll-related documents to relevant authorities.
- Monitor attendance records, overtime, and timesheets for payroll processing purposes.
- Support continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for compliance and audit purposes.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4–7 years’ experience in payroll administration or finance operations.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or food processing environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of Ghanaian payroll regulations, taxation, and statutory deductions.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
