OVERVIEW

Dredging services cover urban dredging and environmental dredging, dredging of dams, rivers and lagoons, maintenance dredging of ports and harbors. Marine construction activities involve beach nourishments, coastal defense and coastal protection measures. Company is also active in urban drainage and drain construction. The Mechanical Technician is expected to diligently carry out the following duties, tasks and responsibilities, as the sample job description for the post show.
REPORTS TO : Managing Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mechanical Technician:
- Creating and implementing maintenance standard operating procedures based on specific machine knowledge
- Troubleshooting faulty machinery and diagnosing the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problems-solving abilities.
- Performing mechanical repairs using hand and power tools
- Collaborating with other mechanical maintenance technicians to solve complex mechanical issues
- Keeping an organized daily log of all machine maintenance and repairs
- Diagnosing electrical problems and malfunctions and taking corrective action
- Maintaining and repairing plant instrumentation
- Developing wiring diagrams as necessary
- Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger. Wattmeter
- Maintaining, repairing, testing and calibrating instrumentation and equipment of various types including flow meters, thermocouples, HMI, laboratory control instrument, loop controllers, PLC and process control and related networks, page phones, radios, and various other forms of electrical/electronic equipment.
- Completing record and inventory of supplies necessary to perform jobs
- Maintaining personal work tools
- May be called upon to initiate, lead and design small projects as directed
- Perform other related miscellaneous duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability
- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system inspections following established procedures and/or other written or verbal instructions
JOB SPECIFICATION
Education
- A graduate from an associate degree program in mechanical engineering.
- mechanic training certificate required.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of Mathematics pertaining to machinery.
- Knowledge of machines and tools.
