Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer At Leisure Energy Ltd


Location: Hybrid working arrangements between home and the Leisure Energy Technology Centre in Worcestershire with some site visits across the UK.

Overview

Established in 2014, Leisure Energy is an award-winning renewable technology company, energy consultancy and principal contractor, who specialise in identifying and delivering energy & sustainability solutions through to full decarbonisation of sports centres and swimming pools.

Our mission is to lead the transition to net zero carbon leisure facilities.

We currently employ 18FTE and have a turnover over £7.5M.

Due to our recent success, with a strong forward order book and set out in our Strategic Plan we anticipate significant growth over the next three years so are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer to join our ambitious, highly talented and committed team.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Director and working closely with the other areas of the business, as well as our specialist supply chain, your role will involve:

  • Generate scope and specification documentation for subcontractors to work to.
  • Review mechanical designs.
  • Review electrical and controls designs.
  • Size equipment (circulation pumps, pipework, air handling units, heat pumps, boiler plant, plate heat exchangers, cabling etc).
  • Work with the Technical Director and gain experience in heat pumps and integration to existing buildings.
  • Generate Design risk assessments, DFMEA’s, Desops, FDS etc.
  • Work with the project team to sign off site works.

Essential

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar function.
  • Experience with at least one of Autocad, Solidworks, REVIT, Navisworks.
  • Strong team member, but also a self-starter and capable of managing their own time.
  • Excellent communication skills to all business levels.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Desirable

  • Experience of energy and low carbon equipment.
  • Experience of analysis of energy use.
  • Knowledge and/or qualifications in Health and Safety.
  • Experience of managing and developing client and supplier relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
