The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba, invites applications from suitably qualified and competent individuals for the position of REGISTRAR.
THE POSITION
• The Registrar shall serve as the Secretary to the Governing Council and advisor to the Vice-Chancellor on administrative matters and shall provide guidance for the framework within which policies shall be made.
• S/he shall supervise and provide leadership to all Divisions, Directorates, Departments, Sections and Units directly under the Registry.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants seeking the position must:
• possess a researched Masters Degree (e.g. MBA, MSc, MPhil, etc.) in a relevant field of study (Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, etc.).
• have at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification working experience in a reputable tertiary institution, four (4) of which should be at the rank of Deputy Registrar.
• be a member of a recognized relevant professional body/association.
Besides, the applicant must:
• have a strong intellect with excellent managerial, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• be principled with strong and proven sense of public morality, integrity and social judgement.
• have a deep appreciation of the academic and administrative environment of the University of Education, Winneba.
• have a clear understanding of global trends in higher education management.
• exhibit a deep understanding of laws and policies governing the higher education landscape.
• demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment.
• proven ability to manage change and innovate.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment is full-time. Successful applicant should be able to serve at least four (4) years before reaching the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60). The successful candidate shall be expected to assume duty by 1st October, 2025.
