The University of Education, Winneba, invites applications from suitably qualified and competent individuals for the position of INTERNAL AUDITOR.
THE POSITION
• The Internal Auditor shall be responsible for the management of the internal audit activities of the University in accordance with the Public Financial Management Act 2016 (Act 921), the Internal Audit Agency Act 2003 (Act 658) and relevant standards.
• S/he shall report directly on administrative issues to the Vice-Chancellor in accordance with guidelines provided for in the Public Financial Management Act and Regulations.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants seeking the position must:
• possess a researched Masters Degree preferably MBA/MSc/M.Phil. in Accounting/Finance.
• be a member of a recognized professional (Accountancy/Auditing) body (ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA etc).
• have a minimum of thirteen(13) years post-qualification experience.
• be at the rank of Deputy Internal Auditor;
Besides, the applicant must:
• be a distinguished professional with capacity to motivate and direct staff;
• be above reproach and must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills; possess excellent interpersonal communication skills;
• have considerable experience in corporate governance;
• have served in a university or an analogous institution, or in a reputable and recognized practicing firm, industry, commerce, and/or public sector in a management position;
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment is full-time. Successful applicant should be able to serve for at least four (4) years before reaching the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60). The successful candidate shall be expected to assume duty by 1st October, 2025.
