As a key member of the senior leadership team, the General/Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all operations are streamlined, cost-effective, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.The ideal candidate will focus on maximising operational efficiency, improving processes, and maintaining high standards across all projects and departments. candidate will play a critical role in expanding the business, ensuring compliance with both local and international freight operations standards, and implementing best practices that enhance productivity and profitability.
Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:

• Develop and execute long-term business strategies to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
• Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities, partnerships, and innovations in the construction sector.

Project Management & Execution:

• Oversee the end-to-end execution of key freight projects, ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and deadlines.
• Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate project disruptions and financial losses.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, manage, and mentor departmental teams to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring workforce development and talent retention.
• Identify areas for employee training and development within the operational teams and organise training programs to improve staff skills, leadership capabilities, and overall performance.

Operational & Financial Oversight:

• Manage financial planning, budgeting, and cost control to enhance profitability.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless coordination between departments
• Develop and optimise operational processes for better project execution, resource allocation, and client satisfaction.

Stakeholder & Client Relations:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, contractors, and suppliers.
• Lead contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and key business discussions.
• Drive customer satisfaction through efficient project management, transparency, and consistent communication.

Innovation & Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous process enhancements by adopting new freight and logistics technologies and best practices.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to improve project efficiency and sustainability.

Reporting and Data Analysis

• Provide regular reports to the CEO on operational performance, project statuses, and financial health.
• Analyse operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
• Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimise resources.
