Position : Food Technologist – Accra

Job Summary
The Food Technologist is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining food products and production processes at GreenGate Foods. The role involves ensuring product quality, food safety compliance, innovation, and adherence to regulatory standards while supporting efficient manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction within the food processing industry in Ghana.
Key Responsibilities



  • Develop new food products and improve existing product formulations to meet market and customer requirements.
  • Conduct product trials, testing, and evaluations to ensure product quality, taste, texture, shelf life, and safety.
  • Monitor food processing operations to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Marketing teams during product development and commercialization.
  • Prepare and maintain product specifications, recipes, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct research on food ingredients, packaging materials, preservation methods, and processing technologies.
  • Analyze laboratory and production data to improve product consistency and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Investigate product quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food quality, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in regulatory audits, inspections, and certification processes.
  • Train production staff on food safety, quality standards, and product handling procedures.
  • Ensure proper labeling and compliance with food regulations and customer requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in food processing, product development, or quality assurance.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and food processing technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and food industry reporting systems.
