FINANCE MANAGER

The role details is to perform a series of tasks to ensure the company’s financial security, handling essentially all financial matters and thus helping to drive the business’s overall management and strategy.

Responsibilities of the job include:

• Responsible for the company’s financial status, actions and transactions, preparing reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements
• Supervising the Finance/Accounts Team in the smooth running of all accounting operations: preparing periodic financial statements, profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
• Undertaking financial administration
• Analyzing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts, while advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
• Negotiating financing on major projects as well as offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
• Developing and managing sound financial systems/policies
• ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget, and liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
• interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
• monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed

Position Requirements & Qualification

• A relevant tertiary qualification and CA / CIMA accreditation
• Minimum 5 years + financial / management accounting experience, 2 years of which must have been in a similar role
• Experience in a Senior management role is required
• Exceptional financial and analytical skills with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
• Commercial awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organization works and manages resources
• A high level of numeracy
