Position Overview
Inspire Her is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance and Operations Manager to oversee the financial management and operational activities of our organization, including the management of our menstrual hygiene product production facility. The Finance and Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our programs and production facility while maintaining financial sustainability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
• Oversee the preparation and management of the organization’s financial budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and efficient allocation of resources.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
• Manage the payroll system, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees, while also handling related tax and benefit obligations.
• Analyze financial reports and operational data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and advise on strategic decisions.
Grant Management and Reporting
• Oversee the management of grant funds, including tracking expenses, preparing grant reports, and ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.
• Work closely with program staff to align grant spending with program goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with funders and grant-making organizations.
Operations Management
• Oversee Production process ensure efficiency.
• Lead the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
• Coordinate the procurement process, including vendor selection and contract negotiation, to optimize cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency.
• Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to streamline operations, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance overall organizational performance.
• Oversee facility management, including maintenance, safety protocols, and space optimization, to ensure a productive work environment.
Production Team Management
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of production staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and skill development.
• Implement performance management systems to assess and improve production team performance, productivity, and efficiency.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the production team.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure seamless integration of production activities with program goals and objectives.
Team Leadership and Development
• Lead and supervise a team of finance and operations staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
Strategic Planning and Development
• Work with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the organization’s financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in financial management and operational processes.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management and operations, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
• Experience with grant management, including grant reporting and compliance.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
