Job Description
Arla Foods Ghana have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Sales Manager. Reporting into the General Manager Ghana, this role covers all of the distribution sales/export markets within the West African region. You will also be responsible for leading in executing profitability aligned short, medium and long-term strategies set-out for distributor sales markets.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Responsible for the commercialisation of the company’s products, executing/tracking market policies and strategies in assigned export markets in order to achieve established objectives
- Support for the sales department in area of monitoring prices and preparing their analysis
- Leads the implementation of a medium-term sales strategy across a channel, territories, product lines, market segments, an individual or a broader portfolio of customer accounts or distributors
- Plans, directs and monitors the activities of a sales team within a specified geography, product line or market segment to achieve established sales targets.
- Develops sales plans, activities and campaigns and manages the day-to-day activities of a sales team in order to implement the organisation’s overall sales strategy for a channel, an assigned geography, product line, market segment, a list of customer accounts or distributors
- Prepares sales forecasts and budgets.
- Monitors sales volume, revenue and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas.
- Adapts procedures or reallocates resources to improve the overall performance of the sales team.
- Negotiates sales with existing and new customers, who are of strategic importance to the organisation
- Contributes to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing and distribution strategies for the area of responsibility.
- Coaches sales representatives on the technical aspects of the organisation’s products and services, on marketing campaigns and sales promotions and on sales techniques, procedures and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
Background/experience
The ideal candidate will have
- 4-7 years of experience within a similar environment (An FMCG background would be advantageous but not essential).
- Educated to a Bachelor’s level (master’s degree is desirable)
- Demonstrated achievement in export sales and business development
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
- Skilled in MS Office, especially Excel and Power Point
- An expert in understanding the sales market and trends
- Analytical skills and an aptitude for figures
- Excellent negotiator

- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- English and French business fluent
- Ability to present complex topics
- Great at stakeholder management
- Comfortable manoeuvring in an international and multi-cultural setting
Please note We are looking for an individual who is either based in Ghana or flexible to relocate within the West African region if necessary, as well as having the ability to travel 70% of the West African region.
