Responsibilities:
Construction and Installation:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and plans.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to construct or install structures, such as frameworks, partitions, floors, and roofs.
- Install and fit doors, windows, staircases, moldings, and other fixtures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians or plumbers, to coordinate the installation of carpentry components with other building systems.
Repair and Renovation:
- Inspect and assess damaged or deteriorating structures to determine necessary repairs or replacements.
- Repair or replace damaged or faulty components, such as beams, floors, windows, or doors.
- Perform structural repairs, including framing, leveling, and reinforcing.
Finishing and Detailing:
- Apply finishes, such as paint, stain, or varnish, to enhance the appearance and protect the surfaces of wood structures.
- Install and fit trim, moldings, and decorative elements to add aesthetic appeal.
- Ensure proper fit, alignment, and functionality of installed components.
Tool and Equipment Usage:
- Select and use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and machinery, such as saws, drills, routers, and sanders, to perform carpentry tasks.
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.
Measurement and Calculation:
- Take accurate measurements and calculate dimensions to ensure precise cuts, fits, and installations.
- Interpret and apply mathematical concepts, such as angles, slopes, and proportions, in carpentry tasks.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to carpentry work.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.

- Proven experience as a carpenter in construction or renovation projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and finishes.
- Skilled in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and precision in measurements, cuts, and installations.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Please note that this role is contracted and pays 700Ghs per month
