Automotive Mechanical Trainer and Developer, SC9 Accra, Accra, At United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)


JOB PURPOSE: The Automotive Mechanical Trainer and Developer will be under the supervision of the Training Coordinator of the Transport Training Centre in Accra. The incumbent’s duties shall include but are not limited to the following: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Act as the technical focal point for the partners trainers for the planning and selection of relevant training modules and topics as per training catalogue.
  •  Develop and/or adapt pedagogical resources in collaboration with the Learning Management System Developer to upload e-learning content to the LMS.
  •  Design training sessions including the adapted training equipment and determine training duration, always in line with the participants’ level of competence.
  •  Participate in the training needs gap analysis both in Ghana and in the WFP Country Offices where a Global Fleet / TTC support is required.
  •  Prepare training schedules and classroom agenda, according to modules, target audience and partner requirements.
  •  Organize and carry out online training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. for trainees when required. eIPiO5O BIpnb
  •  Coordinate with external speakers regarding their contribution to the training sessions.
  •  Track and evaluate training sessions in coordination with the Training Coordinator. Together with the team, prepare the pre- and post-training evaluations and provide respective recommendations and feedback.
  •  Ensure the training materials for face-to-face and online sessions are in line with pedagogical objectives.
  •  Contribute to the sourcing of trainees and ensure their level is adequate to the training through necessary pre-evaluations.
  •  Perform any other related duties when requested.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of University Degree in Mechanical, Automobile or Electrical/Electronical Engineering or in related functional area.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE: Minimum of 3 or more years of postgraduate professional progressive experience in mechanics or the provision of training. Experience of delivering training to skilled professionals or apprentices would be an asset.

LANGUAGE : Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different. French would be an asset.
