A Public Service institution is seeking a versatile, proactive and results-oriented person for the position below at its Head Office.



 

ASSISTANT MANAGER, FINANCE

JOB TITLE               :           ASSISTANT MANAGER, FINANCE

REPORTS TO          :           MANAGER, FINANCE

SUPERVISES            :           NIL

JOB LOCATION      :           HEAD OFFICE, ACCRA

JOB PURPOSE         :           To provide operational support for the efficient and effective performance of the financial management functions of the Fund.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepares payment voucher on regular basis and write cheques.
  2. Manages the institution’s stores.
  3. Undertake petty cash management.
  4. Undertake banking relations.
  5. Make entries into the accounting software.
  6. Prepares tax returns, SSNIT and other superannuation schedules.
  7. Collects data for the preparation of annual financial reports of the Fund.
  8. Collects data for the analysis of financial reports.
  9. Implements financial recommendations contained in audit reports.
  10. Collects data for the preparation of annual budget for the Unit.
  11. Collects data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports for the Unit.
  12. Maintain appropriate documentation of all source documents and proper filing of accounting documents.
  13. Complies with the provisions of the financial management laws, regulations and other fiscal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other related disciplines from an accredited tertiary institution OR a minimum of Level II qualification from a recognised and relevant professional body (e.g. ICA-GH, ACCA, CPA or CIMA).
  • Must have completed National Service.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge in financial management laws, regulations and fiscal policies.
  • Communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge in relevant IT applications.
  • Meticulous and attention to details
  • High integrity and good ethical standards
