SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GHANA is a child welfare organization that provides a stable family environment for children in need, with four villages currently in operation in Tema, Asiakwa, Asokore Mampong & Tamale. ADVOCACY ADVISOR

(Qualifications & Experience)

The ideal candidate should:

Hold a first degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, or Psychology. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years work experience
Strong technical knowledge of advocacy techniques and strategies/channels
Good organizational & managerial skills
Excellent oral/written communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and across cultures
Strategic thinker combined with practical “can do’’ attitude
Strong analytical decision–making and problem-solving skills
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to inspire others.
Have proven knowledge in Microsoft Office suite
Should be a team player, have strong collaborative and team-building skills
Have the ability to work in a non-partisan manner, sensitive to ethnic and cultural differences
The successful applicant should be capable of forming and leading a collation of NGOS on Gender, Child Welfare and Development issues.
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Must be knowledgeable in Child Rights and Child Safe Guarding Practices
Must be highly organized, efficient, and a motivated self-starter with initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm
Must be knowledgeable and aware of changing trends affecting the multi-national sector, NGO’s, INGO’s including SOS CVI.
