Position : Accountant and Human Resource Officer – Accra

A fast-growing and diversified business group with operations in Telecommunications, Mobile Money, Agency Banking, Pay TV Services, Consumer Electronics, Mobile Phones, Accessories, Home Appliances, Retail, Wholesale Distribution, Digital Services, and Real Estate is seeking an exceptional professional to join its Finance and Administration Team as an Accountant and Human Resource Officer.
This position is ideal for an experienced, mature, disciplined, and highly analytical individual who possesses strong accounting, financial reporting, payroll administration, statutory compliance, business analysis, and human resource management skills.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, monitoring business performance, supporting management decision-making, managing payroll and statutory obligations, maintaining employee records, and ensuring the integrity of the organization’s reporting systems.
This is a position of trust and responsibility. The successful candidate will be expected to provide timely, accurate, and reliable information to management while ensuring compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities :
Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping:



  • Record, classify, and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly captured and documented.
  • Maintain general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Ensure proper coding and posting of transactions.
  • Maintain supplier, customer, and employee financial records.
  • Ensure supporting documentation is properly filed and secured.

Revenue & Profitability Monitoring: The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and reporting:

  • Daily Revenue Performance
  • Weekly Revenue Performance
  • Monthly Revenue Performance
  • Gross Profit Performance
  • Net Profit Performance
  • Cost Centre Performance
  • Branch Profitability
  • Business Unit Profitability
  • Product Category Profitability

This includes preparing management reports showing:

  • Revenue Trends
  • Profitability Trends
  • Sales Performance
  • Cost Analysis
  • Variance Analysis
  • Business Growth Indicators

Bank, Cash & Financial Reconciliations:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile all company bank accounts.
  • Reconcile electronic wallet balances.
  • Reconcile Odoo balances against Tally balances.
  • Reconcile accounting records against supporting documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate records for:

  • Bank Accounts
  • Mobile Money Accounts
  • Cash Accounts
  • Petty Cash Accounts
  • Customer Deposits
  • Supplier Balances

Statutory Compliance Management: 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • PAYE preparation and filing.
  • SSNIT preparation and filing.
  • Petra Pension preparation and filing.
  • VAT preparation and filing.
  • PIT and other regulatory obligations.
  • Maintaining statutory records and supporting documentation.
  • Monitoring compliance deadlines.
  • Ensuring all statutory obligations are met on time.

Payroll Administration:

  • Prepare monthly payroll.
  • Process salary adjustments.
  • Process staff allowances and deductions.
  • Maintain payroll records.
  • Maintain staff loan records.
  • Monitor payroll accuracy.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee compensation information.

Human Resource Administration:

  • Maintain employee records and personnel files.
  • Manage staff onboarding and induction processes.
  • Prepare employment contracts and HR correspondence.
  • Maintain leave records and attendance records.
  • Support performance management activities.
  • Coordinate recruitment processes.
  • Assist with training and staff development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Monthly Compliance & Bonus Reporting: The Accountant & HR Officer will be responsible for preparing and validating the Monthly Compliance & Performance Report used by management. The report will include:
Financial Compliance

  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Odoo vs Tally Reconciliations
  • Revenue Reports
  • Profitability Reports
  • Stock Reports
  • Cost Centre Performance Reports

Statutory Compliance:

  • PAYE
  • SSNIT
  • Petra
  • VAT
  • PIT
  • Operational Compliance
  • Cash Collection Reports
  • Branch Performance Reports
  • Receivables Reports
  • WHT Reports
  • Compliance Verification Reports

The successful candidate will ensure that all required reports and supporting evidence are available before recommendations are made for Senior Management Compliance Bonus approvals.
Systems & Technology: The successful candidate must be comfortable working with:

The Accountant & Human Resource Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, payroll, human resource administration, statutory compliance, management reporting, and performance monitoring functions of the organization. The role requires an individual who can effectively combine accounting expertise with strong administrative and people management skills.
Applicants must possess:

  • Degree, HND, Diploma, Professional Accounting Qualification, or equivalent qualification in: Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Economics or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant practical experience.
  • Experience in: Accounting, Payroll Administration, Human Resource Administration, Financial Reporting, Compliance Reporting, Business Administration
