Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:



  • Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, assist them in finding products, answer their questions, and provide information about promotions, discounts, andstore policies.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of the products sold in the store, including their features, benefits, and pricing, to effectively assist customers and make product recommendations.
  • Stock Management: Receive incoming shipments, unpack merchandise, and ensure accurate labeling, pricing, and display of products on shelves and racks, following inventory management procedures.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the store, including aisles, shelves, counters, and checkout area, by regularly sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing merchandise.
  • Customer Assistance: Assist customers with locating items, carrying purchases to their vehicles, and handling special requests or inquiries, ensuring a positive shopping experience and customer satisfaction.
  • Cash Handling: Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately and efficiently, handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment, and issue receipts and change to customers.
  • Sales Promotion: Actively promote sales, discounts, and special offers to customers, encourage upselling and cross-selling of products, and suggest complementary items to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Security and Loss Prevention: Monitor customer behavior and store premises to prevent theft, shoplifting, and security breaches, report suspicious activities to management, and follow security protocols and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other shop attendants, supervisors, and managers to coordinate tasks, address customer concerns, and ensure the smooth operation of the store during opening hours.

Qualifications:

  • HND or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in handling cash and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as needed, based on the store’s operating hours.

Salary: GHC 1200.00
