Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
Location: Offinso, Ashanti Region. Ghana
Status: Full time, Regular
Reports to: Cooperative Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The M&E Officer will be responsible for developing and managing the M&E system, processes, and activities, including the coordination of externally conducted evaluations; and implementing an M&E Plan and data reporting requirements to partners and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- M&E Officer to manage a rigorous approach to monitoring and evaluation e.g., creating systems for monitoring performance progress toward specific objectives, outputs, and outcomes.
- To develop strategies and tools for data flow, data collection and safeguarding, data quality assurance, data analysis, and regular reporting on approved indicators under each objective.
- Responsible for data collection, database entry, analysis, and quality checks of data; coordinates and verifies field officers and other third-party data.
- Ensuring data quality and integrity through regular data verification and validation of data and processes.
- Lead in the implementation of a household vulnerability assessment, assessment of cocoa cooperatives’ existing Child Labor Monitoring and Remediation Systems (CLRMS); and other community-based assessments.
- Monitor the results of project activities and contribute to periodic evaluations/assessments, contribute to dissemination of results to internal and external audiences.
- Build the capacity of staff in monitoring and evaluation; liaise with them to obtain necessary data and monitor the quality and timeliness of data submissions.
- Coordinate analysis of real-time project monitoring data collected through KoboCollect applications using the tablets on a weekly basis
- Lead in data analysis and interpretation, including the use of statistical methods and data visualization techniques to generate meaningful insights and recommendations. Support the Cooperative Manager in contributing towards semi-annual reporting
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics or any other related discipline.
Practical Experience: At least 3-5 years of practical experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, project management, or related fields.
Experience with M&E frameworks, tools, and methodologies. Previous work experience with NGOs, government agencies, or international development organizations is often preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS) and data analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of M&E principles and practices. Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Additional Skills: Good analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with donor requirements and reporting standards can be an advantage.
