Job Title: Line Cook
Business Unit: Sandbox Beach Club
Report To: Sous Chef&Groupe Executive Chef

Job Brief:

We are looking for an efficient Line Cook to help our culinary team create memorable meals for our customers. You will be responsible for specific cooking and non-cooking duties in the kitchen, preparing high-quality food that meets the Sandbox’s standards.


• Prepare awesome meals for our customers.
• Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes.
• Steam, grill, boil, bake or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
• Check food and ingredients for freshness.
• Arrange and garnish dishes.
• Work well under pressure and within the time limit.
• Ensure that kitchen area, equipment and utensils are cleaned.
• Help lead and inspire our staff with the rest of the kitchen team.
• Wow guests with amazing dishes.
• Be punctual, appropriately always dressed, and mindful of all company rules.
• Assist with weekly stock takes.

Qualification Required & Experience


• High school (WASSCE) qualification or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary or tertiary school qualification or foreign equivalency preferred but not an absolute requirement.
• Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
• Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
• Ability to take instruction as well as lead on their own in the absence of team leaders.
• Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
• Ability to use different kitchen equipment like slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
• Able to handle work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
