About the role and team
We have an opportunity for a full-time Paralegal to join the Insurance WA section based in our Perth office.
This is a great opportunity for a career paralegal to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Our growing Insurance WA practice has approximately 80 staff in total including 40 lawyers. The Insurance WA team is a defendant insurance legal team, working across both General Insurance and Statutory Insurance matters. Our Perth office has around 120+ employees in total, which also includes our Commercial teams as well as Corporate Services.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- liaising with internal and external stakeholders; courts, clients and other parties;
- drafting court documents;
- preparation of settlement documents;
- preparing briefs; and
- other ad hoc paralegal tasks.
Skills and experience
We would like to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- previous experience as an insurance paralegal;
- ability to draft court documents;
- ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy;
- ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
- strong organisational skills with the ability to work under time constraints and to deadline;
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment;
- proactive and self-motivated;
- strong IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
- experience working with a document management system (eg iManage 10); and
- experience working with Aderant, legal billing software.
