Advocacy Advisor

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GHANA is a child welfare organization that provides a stable family environment for children in need, with four villages currently in operation in Tema, Asiakwa, Asokore Mampong & Tamale. (Qualifications & Experience)
The ideal candidate should:
- Hold a first degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Rights, or Psychology. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years work experience
- Strong technical knowledge of advocacy techniques and strategies/channels
- Good organizational & managerial skills
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and across cultures
- Strategic thinker combined with practical “can do’’ attitude
- Strong analytical decision–making and problem-solving skills
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to inspire others.
- Have proven knowledge in Microsoft Office suite
- Should be a team player, have strong collaborative and team-building skills
- Have the ability to work in a non-partisan manner, sensitive to ethnic and cultural differences
- The successful applicant should be capable of forming and leading a collation of NGOS on Gender, Child Welfare and Development issues.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
- Must be knowledgeable in Child Rights and Child Safe Guarding Practices
- Must be highly organized, efficient, and a motivated self-starter with initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm
- Must be knowledgeable and aware of changing trends affecting the multi-national sector, NGO’s, INGO’s including SOS CVI.
