Position : Human Resources Manager – Accra
We are looking for a Human Resources Manager.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs, map out workforce plans, and forecast future hiring requirements.
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, from drafting job descriptions and sourcing candidates to managing interviews and extending offers.
- Design and execute comprehensive orientation and onboarding programs to accelerate new-hire integration and retention.
2. Employee Relations & Culture
- Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and management to resolve workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, and high-performance company culture through engagement surveys, team-building initiatives, and open feedback channels.
- Conduct thorough and confidential internal investigations when workplace policy violations or compliance issues arise.
3. Performance Management & Professional Development
- Establish, implement, and manage the company’s annual or bi-annual performance appraisal frameworks.
- Coach line managers on delivering constructive feedback, identifying underperformance, and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Identify organizational skills gaps and design training and professional development programs to build internal capacity and support succession planning.
4. Compensation, Benefits, & Wellness
- Administer payroll processes, structure competitive salary tiers, and ensure equitable compensation practices based on market benchmarking.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement funds, leave tracking (sick, annual, parental), and wellness initiatives.
- Regularly review compensation packages to ensure the company remains competitive in attracting top talent.
5. HR Operations, Compliance, & Risk Management
- Ensure all company policies, employment contracts, and workplace practices comply with local employment standards and labor legislation.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and legally compliant physical and digital employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Oversee workplace health and safety programs, ensuring adherence to occupational health standards and mitigating corporate risk.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in HR) is highly advantageous.
- Experience: Typically requires 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Certifications: Professional HR registration or certification with relevant local or international qualifying authorities (e.g., local HR institutes, SHRM, or CIPD) is preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Labor Law Expertise: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of local labor statutes, employment acts, and industrial relations procedures.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Exceptional active listening, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities, with the emotional intelligence to manage sensitive personal situations.
- Systems Literacy: Proficiency with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking software (ATS), payroll systems, and standard business suites (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret workforce data, turnover metrics, and hiring costs to drive data-backed HR interventions.
