Position : Operations Manager – Near Gomoa Budatta, Central Region

Ultimate Farms is a commercial layer operation with serious infrastructure (automated cage systems, wet curtain cooling, real production volume) and a fully designed management system that covers everything from biosecurity protocols to staff accountability to financial reconciliation. The owner has spent over a year building that system.
The problem? The system lives on paper. The bridge between strategy and daily execution has not been built. Current staff default to the easiest path, not the best one. When something breaks, it stays broken or gets replaced with a worse process. Standards that should be enforced are not. Data that should be collected is not. Reports that should be written are not.
That is why this role exists.
We need someone who will take what has been designed and install it. Piece by piece, day by day, with full authority over how the operation runs and the staff who run it.
Let me be direct about the conditions: the farm is in a growth phase. The physical environment is functional but not polished. The accommodation (nearby, not on-site) is basic. This is not Accra. What You’ll Do:



  • Run the daily operation. Production, staff assignments, inventory, equipment. You own it. You do not call the owner to ask what to do today. You make the calls, execute the plan, and report the results.
  • Implement the management system. The SOPs, reporting structures, and accountability frameworks exist. Your job is to train staff on them, enforce them, and adapt them where the ground reality demands changes (always with a well-reasoned case presented to the MD before making changes, never unilaterally).
  • Solve problems, do not just report them. When something breaks, when a process is not working, when an outcome is below standard, your job is not to shrug and accept it. Your job is to figure out why, think through what could work differently, and present a solution. If you do not know the answer, you know how to find it. You research. You ask. You test. You figure it out.
  • Enforce standards. The farm has a progressive discipline system (documented warnings with escalation). You use it. Fairly, consistently, without favouritism. If a rule matters enough to be written down, it matters enough to be enforced. Every time.
  • Report clearly. You submit a structured daily report. Digital, not verbal. Written in clear English with real information, not vague summaries. This report is how the MD manages the farm remotely. If your report is incomplete, the MD is flying blind.
  • Lead the team. You manage farm workers, handle scheduling, conduct performance reviews, and set the standard for what “professional” looks like on this farm. You are the culture. The team will match your energy and your standards, for better or worse.

  • You are comfortable with digital tools. Whatever platforms we end up using (project management tools, cloud documents, digital reporting), you pick them up quickly because you already live your life through apps and systems. Your instinct when faced with a new tool is curiosity, not resistance.
  • You think in systems, not habits. When you see a process that does not work, you want to redesign it. You look for root causes, not quick patches. “That is how we have always done it” is a phrase that actually bothers you. You understand that the right way to challenge a process is to present a structured case for why your approach is better, backed by evidence or reasoning, not to just go off and do your own thing.
  • You are resourceful. You do not freeze when you hit a problem you have not seen before. You do not wait for someone to hand you the answer. You figure out how to find the answer. You Google. You call someone who knows. You test something small. You experiment. The point is you move forward, always.
  • You refuse to accept broken as permanent. This is the trait that separates the person we want from everyone else. When the automated feeder breaks and the default response is “guess we are doing it by hand now,” you are the person who says “hold on, is there a way to get that efficiency back? Can we retrofit something? Can we build a simpler version that does 80% of the job?” You treat every downgrade as a problem to solve, not a reality to accept.
  • You treat this business like it is yours. Not because someone told you to “take ownership” in a training seminar. Because you actually care about whether things are done right. Because it bothers you when eggs go uncounted, when protocols get skipped, when potential is wasted.
  • You work. Hard. Consistently. Six days a week. Not because someone is watching, but because leaving something half-done eats at you.
