Position : Operations Associate – Kpong
The RenewHope Initiative is a community-driven clean energy project that aims to install 500 biodigesters across rural and peri-urban Ghana. Each system provides clean cooking gas and organic biofertilizer while reducing methane emissions and generating carbon credits under Article 6.2. This initiative is being led by Sustainology, a global climate project development company focused on waste-to-energy, carbon finance, and regenerative agriculture.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Operations Associate to support the on-ground activities of the RenewHope Initiative in Ghana. This person will serve as our local extension, managing communications with community stakeholders, gathering field intelligence, supporting business development activities, and coordinating local research efforts.
Key Responsibilities:Local Outreach & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with community leaders, cooperatives, and local governments across project regions
- Support the establishment and engagement of Biogas User Associations (BUAs)
- Organize field visits, training sessions, and local meetings
- Serve as the point of contact for local partners and institutions
Business Development Support
- Identify potential implementation partners (e.g. local agri-cooperatives, processors, NGOs)
- Assist in documenting and pitching the initiative to local value chain actors
- Maintain a database of relevant contacts and partnership opportunities
Primary Research & Data Collection
- Conduct field-level surveys, interviews, and data gathering exercises on:
- Cassava processors, manure suppliers, and water hyacinth hotspots
- Fertilizer market demand and household energy usage
- Support baseline assessments and feasibility studies as needed
- Compile insights into structured reports and summaries
Operational Coordination
- Support logistics for site visits, stakeholder workshops, and regional travel
- Track project progress across assigned towns and regions
- Collaborate with Sustainology’s global team to ensure smooth flow of information and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Masters in Business Studies / Management
- Experience with development projects in the energy, agriculture, or climate sectors
- Familiarity with the cassava processing sector or livestock systems
- Prior involvement in carbon projects, cooperatives, or rural energy initiatives
Requirements:
- Based in Ghana with knowledge of rural/agricultural settings
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
- Proficiency in one or more local languages (Twi, Ewe, Ga, or others – a strong plus)
- 1–3 years of experience in community engagement, NGO coordination, rural development, or field research
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple moving parts remotely
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- Willingness to travel periodically to project regions when needed
- Passion for climate action, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture
