Responsibilities:
Electrical Installations:
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements of electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- Install, connect, and test electrical wiring, conduit, switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and other electrical components according to building codes, regulations, and project plans.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as contractors, plumbers, and HVAC technicians, to coordinate electrical installations with other building systems.Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose electrical problems or malfunctions using various testing devices and techniques.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical wiring, fixtures, switches, or other components.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
Electrical Systems Integration:
- Install and connect electrical equipment, such as lighting fixtures, emergency systems, security systems, fire alarm systems, and data communication systems.
- Coordinate with specialized technicians for the installation and integration of specialized electrical systems, such as HVAC controls or automated building management systems.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards during installations and repairs.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
- Conduct electrical safety inspections and tests, including grounding, continuity, and insulation resistance checks.
Documentation and Reporting:

- Valid electrician license or certification in accordance with local regulations.
- Proven experience as an electrician in commercial construction projects.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, components, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment, and testing devices used in electrical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other tradespeople.
